Senior AI engineering for Australian businesses.

Bvyte is an AI and software studio in Ahmedabad working with Australian organisations that want a senior, accountable team. We schedule around the Australian afternoon, design with the Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles in mind, and keep data in Australian cloud regions where you need it there.

Across the Indian Ocean, in the same working week

India is 4.5 hours behind Queensland and the other AEST states, so the Australian afternoon is the Indian morning. A 2:00 pm call in Brisbane is 9:30 am in Ahmedabad: a clear head and a full day still ahead. Western Australia is only 2.5 hours ahead of us and shares even more of the day. That overlap is the practical basis for everything else we offer.

Overview

Choosing an overseas AI partner as an Australian organisation

Australian organisations often find that senior AI engineering is scarce and slow to hire locally, and an overseas partner is a practical answer. The questions that follow are specific: how will we collaborate across a time zone gap, what do the Australian Privacy Principles mean for data handled overseas, and can we keep sensitive data in Australia anyway. Each has a clear, workable answer when it is raised at the start.

For collaboration, the Australian afternoon is the Indian morning, which gives a dependable shared window and leaves your mornings with written updates waiting. For privacy, the usual pattern is to keep personal information in an Australian cloud region in your own account, give our engineers only the access they need, and develop with masked data. Where regulated entities, government buyers or health information are involved, we document the design so your privacy officer and counsel can assess it quickly.

What we build

AI and software services for Australian organisations

The engineering is the same everywhere. For Australia we add data residency choices, privacy documentation and a rhythm built around your afternoon.

  1. 01

    Privacy-aware AI design

Data inventories, collection notices, retention rules and access models prepared with the Australian Privacy Principles in mind, for your privacy officer and counsel to review.

  2. 02

    Data residency in Australian regions

Deployment into the Sydney or Melbourne regions of AWS, Azure or Google Cloud, in your account, with model hosting options chosen to match where data may be processed.

  3. 03

Document AI for field and back-office work

Inspection reports, delivery dockets, invoices, tenders and compliance records turned into validated data. See document AI and automation.

  4. 04

    Customer and staff assistants

Assistants for service desks, policy questions and safety procedures, with answers cited to source documents. See LLM and AI agent development.

  5. 05

    Software for remote teams

Portals and offline-first mobile apps for crews on sites with poor coverage, integrated into the systems you already run. See custom software and SaaS.

  6. 06

    Testing evidence for procurement

Evaluation results, change logs and a plain description of each system's purpose and limits, written for risk and procurement reviewers.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Still unsure? Ask us directly, a senior engineer replies within one business day.

What does the time difference look like for Australian teams?

Brisbane and the other AEST locations are 4.5 hours ahead of India, and states on daylight saving are 5.5 hours ahead in summer. Perth is 2.5 hours ahead. The shared window is the Australian afternoon and the Indian morning, usually from about 1:00 pm to 4:30 pm on the east coast, adjusted for daylight saving. Written notes cover the rest.

How does the Privacy Act affect an AI project?

The Privacy Act 1988 and its Australian Privacy Principles, overseen by the OAIC, govern how many organisations collect, use, disclose and secure personal information, with some exemptions, for example for certain small businesses. Reforms passed in 2024 add further obligations, including transparency about automated decisions that significantly affect individuals, being phased in. We design with these in mind and work with your counsel on what applies to you. Our guide to building AI under the Privacy Act goes into detail.

What about sending personal information to a team in India?

Australian Privacy Principle 8 deals with disclosing personal information overseas, and in general the organisation remains accountable for what the overseas recipient does with it. Common approaches are keeping data in an Australian region, limiting access, using masked data in development and putting binding contract terms in place. Your counsel should confirm the right approach for you.

Can you deploy into Australian cloud regions?

Yes. We deploy into Sydney and Melbourne regions on AWS, Azure and Google Cloud, in your own account. Not every model is available in every region, so we check hosting options early and design around them.

Do you work with government suppliers?

We work with companies that supply to government. Those buyers may require IRAP-assessed cloud services or specific hosting and personnel conditions. We design to your contractual requirements and say early if one is outside what we can support. We claim no government accreditation.

Can you support remote sites with poor connectivity?

Yes. Field apps can be offline-first, saving work locally and syncing when a connection returns, and assistants can be designed to degrade gracefully when the network is slow.

Do you travel to Australia?

For a discovery workshop we can travel to Australia when the project justifies it. Delivery runs remotely, with a weekly demo and a standing afternoon window for the east coast.

Who owns the data, the code and the models?

You do. Everything is built in your cloud account and repositories, and code, prompts, evaluation sets and any fine-tuned models are assigned to you.
